Looking HP/UX Guru

Need to be a very hands-on person, grounded and willing to work hard. Must be able to jump in immediately without lots of hand-holding.

Must have minimum of 5+ years HP UNIX administration, etc. HP UX must be current.

Sr. Administrator will be primarily responsible for working with and facilitating production support for our peer groups and the various business units throughout the client enterprise. Responsible for assessing the requests of these groups and determining how to best implement each request, given the computing environment they exist in. Required to interface with the various Project Engineering teams to assist in the development, implementation and transition of new technology solutions into our production environment. This role requires that each candidates have the highest level of understanding of the platform that they manage and their global production systems environment.

This position within the company infrastructure is considered the highest level of technical expertise that the client has on staff; each within the scope of their platform. Shift Managers may call upon candidates technical expertise for assistance in daily support and maintenance procedures. In emergency situations, may even be called upon at any hour of the day or night. As such, Responsible for creating/reviewing and maintaining maintenance and administrative procedures for their platform. Ensuring that the appropriate level of monitoring, trending and capacity planning is being performed and cataloged. Providing engineering leadership and mentoring for the successful deployment, support and training of complex hybrid solutions.

Where applicable, candidate will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and monitoring of some cross-platform applications. These would include, but are not limited to, Maestro, Tivoli Storage Manager (Client) and Tivoli Monitoring software. Required to monitor their Magic Service Desk queue, ensuring the timely resolution of incidents that have been escalated to them. Responsible for the creation of a monthly capacity/trend report for their platform that will be used to communicate the needs and requirements of the client's enterprise to upper management.
