Description
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for expert planning, development, implementation and evaluation of projects. They provide a single point of contact during the project, manage all cross-functional aspects of the engagement, and provide direction to the Project Management Team (PMT). The manager ensures a strong and seamless relationship by maintaining communications at all levels of management in the bank, and externally. They also define project scope and work closely with their manager, the Project Director, and the Project Management Team (PMT) to identify specific project requirements utilizing Work Breakdown Structures, Scope Management and Change Control Processes. Using Project Management Institute best practices, they deliver detailed Statements of Work, project plans and strategies for each engagement. The Senior Project Manager assesses project issues and risks, and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality and the bank's goals and objectives.

The Senior Project Manager manages a single large-scale project, or two (2) mid-size projects.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Builds strong working relationships with the PMT, ensuring the team works as a "team".
• Uses Project Management Institute Standard and practices
• Delivers a detailed Statement of Work and facilitates the agreement and approval by the Project Director.
• Develops, delivers and maintains a detailed project plan and strategies.
• Reviews and Assesses project estimates.
• Uses Work Breakdown Structures, scope management and change control processes.
• Assesses project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and bank-satisfaction goals and objectives.
• Identifies project risks and identifies potential resolutions; alerts BSP Management and the Project Director.
• Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, BSP management, and the PMT.
• Communicates frequently with all levels of the organization. This includes PMT members, (core and extended), the Project Director, and BSP Management.
• Facilitates the weekly core team meetings.
• Collects project performance data and prepares project status and budget reports.
• Prepares meeting agenda, Minutes and Status reports from Project Manager Team meetings.
• Tracks progress against the project plan, project contract, and action items.
• Reports team progress and recommendations at PMT meetings.
• Provides leadership to the team by working to define clear, realistic goals; measuring time, scope and budget against the goals.
• Mentors the team.
• Communicates with PMT members to ensure that they understand the issues, recommendations, and plans.
• Leads by example with excellent diligence, planning, analysis, and communications.
• Drives teams towards excellence in analysis, decision-making.
• Helps clear barriers to team progress.
• Resolves problems and conflicts within the team and outside the team.
• Manages all cross-functional aspects of the project.
• Delegates and manages the tasks of the other functional core team members.
• Applies the appropriate management techniques given project specific needs, risks and differences in core team member skill levels.
• Ensures consistent implementation and use of tools, processes and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Bachelors Degree from an accredited university
• Project Management Professional(PMP) Certification required.
