Agile1's client seeks a Sr. Java Developer for full time employment. The Senior Java Developer is responsible for the design, development, testing, implementation, support and maintenance of a portal and content management environment. The successful candidate will work directly with developers, project managers, DBAs and business owners to implement high-performance dynamic and interactive web-based applications in a fast-paced, mission critical environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Contribute in the design, development, testing, and implementation of a Java based portal / content management system (CMS) platform focusing on collaboration, content management, and ease of use web applications. Transform customer business requirements into a comprehensive solution using the appropriate methods, tools, and technologies. Comprehend application development processes, methodologies and techniques and execute knowledge of Internet technologies & standards and understand the current & future industry trends and directions. Responsible for all stages of software development process including requirements definition, design, architecture, development, testing, support and maintenance. Fostering a strong working relationship and communication level with IT staff, project team members, and management. Establish, update, educate, and enforce design and development standards, including web best practices to ensure consistency and maintainability. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering or equivalent. In depth knowledge and extensive experience with Java, J2EE, JDBC, Servlets, JSP, XML, XSL, HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Struts, Web Services, SQL 4+ years of development experience delivering enterprise-scale web solutions. 3+ years of programming and systems analysis experience including programming, software design, building distributed systems architecture, or performing object oriented analysis/design (OOA/D). Experience with SQL Server and Oracle required. Experience with stored procedures and databases modeling a plus. Experience in portal/content management systems development using Vignette Content Management 7.x and Vignette Application Portal 7.x a plus. Knowledge of UNIX scripting, Tomcat, and Apache a plus. Familiarity with web usability standards, web best practices, and procedures in web development is a plus. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work with little supervision. df-tc
