Senior/Lead Web Application Engineer/Java developer

Position Profile
Begin your career at PayCycle as a senior lead engineer, with increased management responsibilities as the company grows. You will be responsible for providing leadership to a subset of the engineering team. This includes mentoring and influencing team members, in order to deliver high quality and timely releases of the product. The role requires a customer-focused approach to defining the product. This includes hands-on involvement during the definition, specification, design, and coding stages, as well as interaction with other groups like Product Management, Product Marketing, and Quality Assurance.

Technical Skills:
An excellent understanding of scalable multi-tiered web-based application architecture, design
Demonstrated ability in programming for the web - JSP, JAVA, J2EE, servlets, XML, MS SQL, etc.
Strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to absorb new concepts quickly

Personal and Management Skills
Proven leadership expertise in a central development role
Proven track record in shipping multiple products through their full product lifecycles
Excellent communication skills
Strong people skills

Education and Experience
Eight or more years of industry experience and five or more years of experience in java web development and database-based software design
BS Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent

Additional Skills a PLUS:
Experience building consumer/small business-based financial applications
Knowledge and understanding of BEA WebLogic application server

Salary is $120 - 130K based on experience60 employees in company - start up environment10,000 customersIn last 6-7 months they have grown and doubled the engineering staff - should be set for now, this position is the last piece POsition is newly created - engineering staff is in place but Lun needs someone to step in and help him take some of the load off. This person will lead 4 people, eventually once they come up to speed will possibly manage more folks.
