Description
The Senior Software Developer will interact significantly with senior I.T. leadership, in addition to the Chief Information Officer, Chief Technology Officer and Director/Manager level staff and Vendors. In addition, the candidate will work closely with key departmental and project stakeholders across the organization. Therefore, the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of management and staff within the organization is a key priority in this role.



Responsibilities:

Designing and developing J2EE applications that conform to internal design and coding standards

Experience designing and implementing web services using SOAP, XML, Axis

Documentation and modeling of applications using UML methodology

Working with business users to gather requirements

Troubleshooting and maintenance of existing web applications

Ability to translate user/customer feedback into executable application modifications

Experience/Skills
Experince:

Minimum of 6 years overall, relevant experience in software development

Minimum 4 years experience developing Java and J2EE applications Struts, JSP, JDBC, XML

Working knowledge of Axis and .NET web service development

Strong knowledge and experience with JDBC, XML, XSLT, DOM/JDOM

Experience with Apache Tomcat/Jboss application server

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

Knowledge and experience with UML modeling concepts and tools

Strong foundation with object oriented concepts and design patterns

Flexibility, ability to change priorities quickly, and capacity to handle multiple tasks

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), including facilitation and team leadership skills



Desired Skills:

Unix experience a plus, especially Linux

Experience with LDAP, WebDAV, UDDI standards preferred

Mainframe access EHLLAPI, HACL strongly preferred

Experience with BPM concepts and tools preferred

Knowledge of the financial services industry or credit card processing operations a plus

Other desired skills:
