Senior Software Engineer

Primary Responsibilites

We are seeking a creative and highly motivated senior software engineer to join our team. The position requires experience in performing system analysis, design and coding assignments, participation in code/design reviews, unit testing, stability testing, product documentation, and production support. This individual will work with other team members to provide input in the capture, implementation, and building of design documentation created by the team. The successful candidate for this position will be familiar with the phases of the SDLC and have experience with planning and software design, code development, ensuring coding standards and practices are met, performing tests and implementation. The position requires an individual who is willing to play a technical role in a fast paced team oriented software development environment.


Job Description:

. Development in Java/J2EE technologies, Web Services, SQL, and XML based technologies to maintain and enhance the INF Framework which is used to access the Novus Suite Architecture.
. Apply Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) techniques and implementation using Design Patterns
. Communicate both verbally and via design artifacts
. Development in a highly scalable distributed multi-tiered system
. Create and maintain unit level tests using JUnit
. Collaborate with engineers both internal and external to the organization
. Participate with business units to review requirements and designs
. Follow up on outstanding issues with project team and management



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
. 6+ years of Java/J2EE based development using Design Patterns
. 2+ years developing Web Services
. Proficient in XML, XSLT and related technologies
. Possess excellent written and verbal skills
. Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
. Ability to set scope and deliver quality results
. Ability to communicate effectively when dealing with internal and external customers


Preferred Experience

Experience in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) - SOAP and Web Services within Websphere Application Server (WAS)
Experience working with Rational Developer (RAD) or Websphere Application Developer(WASD), Experience working with Team Foundation Server or Teamtrack
Familiarity with REST technology
UI development experience using JSF, JSP and Ajax
Experience with Message Oriented Middleware services
