Description
As a Senior Java Developer, the candidate will provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments. The primary responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to the following:

Utilize mature (3rd or 4th Generation) programming methodologies and languages and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques while contributing to the technical code documentation.
Must be able to troubleshoot all components of solution including code debugging, application and web server dependencies and database logic.
Will work closely with application architects, business analysts and development team members to create robust, high-quality deliverables.
Participate in technical design meetings at the operational and project level, providing continuous feedback on design status.
Perform technical design and construction for J2EE-based applications with limited oversight.
Desire to work concurrently with multiple projects, technologies and teams.
Ensure most cost-efficient match between functional requirements and technology standards.
Actively seek and introduce opportunities that enable a better quality application while minimizing time to delivery.
Participate in the support of the development and testing infrastructure.
Provide progress reporting to management.

Experience/Skills
Qualifications

Required Skills:
* 5+ years experience in software development, using Servlets, JSP, EJB 2.0 and above, Java and C++ technologies (Java is Mandatory).
* Strong working knowledge in Object Oriented Architectures. Hands-on experience in J2EE, Web security (SSO) and portal implementations.
* 5+ years experience in using the JDBC 2.x packages from Java.
* Experience with application platforms such as BEA Weblogic 8.x/7.x, working with Clusters and Session management. Must have experience in installing and troubleshooting common application server problems.
* Experience with web servers such as Apache, IIS or Netscape Enterprise Server.
* Experience in developing Web Services (SOAP, UDDI, WSDL) & XML.
* Experience in Ant / CVS and Cruise Control.
* In-depth understanding and experience with Oracle 9g/10g. Ability to implement logical & physical data models.
* Experience in performance tuning of web & database systems.
* In-depth understanding and experience with Windows XP and Solaris operating systems.
* Experience defining the technical architecture for Intra/Internet applications.
* Experience in structured methodologies and tools for requirements engineering, design, development and implementation of applications in large systems environments
* Acute attention to detail and reliable problem-solving ability.

Highly desirable skills:
* Experience with Apache Axis for web services and other libraries from Apache.
* Experience with JMS and Java Mail API.
* Familiarity with Java reflection and Javax packages.
* Unix scripting experience.
* Experience with use and configuration of Tomcat and other open source J2EE applications.
