Description
Our client a well established international company located in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking a Sr. Network Administrator. This is a fulltime position supporting a global network infrastructure working for a stable and growing company that offers excellent benefits.

Overview:
The Sr. Network Administrator is a senior level position reporting directly to the Network Manager and will be responsible for the implementation, operation, maintenance, and documentation of local LANs and Global WAN in multiple countries. Remote Access, Storage (SAN, NAS), including global replication, DNS, and Network Security. Working with management and vendors, will be involved in defining the strategy, direction and architectures for a global network environment.

This position requires extensive and broad functional experience with switching, routing, firewall, VPN, and network management systems across a wide range of architectures, platforms and mediums.

Responsibilities:

- Implementation and administration (performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting) of all network switches, routers, firewalls, data lines, access points, and other associated hardware for multiple sites in North America ensuring high availability of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and network services
- Implementation and administration (performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting) of global WAN including but not limited to all edge routers, data lines and vendors, MPLS infrastructure, QOS, and VoIP.
- Complete documentation of the WAN and draft policies in respect to additions and changes to the global infrastructure.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery
- Assist in building and maintaining Disaster Recovery (DR) sites to comply with the company's Business Continuity policies.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain security systems and practices such as intrusion detection systems, firewalls, ACL's, and VPN's
- Conduct regular security assessments of the enterprise IT environment and global WAN infrastructure.
- Develop, implement, and manage a global DNS policy
- Upgrade, document, and manage a MS Active Directory domain
- Create and maintain detailed project plans, scope of work, and other technical documentation of all adds, moves, and changes in regards to the network, DNS and AD
- Plan new network installations and upgrades of existing installations in conformance with institutional standards and company vision
- Develop strategies and policies for remote access to enterprise resources.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies to improve application and data sharing between global locations.
- Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry,
- Assist in the design of an overall global IT Strategic Vision and Strategy to help the business grow globally.
- Define and implement a SAN policy in support of global data sharing and DR using data replication and snapshots.
- Work with existing Vendors and contractors to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly.

Experience/Skills
Qualifications:
Required Technical Skills:
Experience in design, depolyment and support of global network(s).

Strong network switching background with Cisco Catalyst based 4500 & 3700 series switches.
Strong routing background, Cisco routers a must (CCNA/CCNP highly desirable).
DNS and Microsoft AD2000/2003 experience a must
SAN experience including global replication of data required (NetApp preferred)
VoIP experience Preferred
Application acceleration experience desirable (Cisco WAAS preferred)
Intrusion detection/prevention systems experience desirable

Required Personal Skills:
Strong Interpersonal and negotiating skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Good planning, project management, organizational and time management skills required to handle complex enterprise-scale projects.
A high degree of creative ability, analytical and technical skills and independent judgment/decision making.
