Title: Internet Engineer / Network Engineer

Description:
As a Senior level individual contributor, this position is part of a team responsible for Project Rollouts, Network Maintenance, Support, Trouble Resolution, Root Cause Analysis and SLA maintenance for a large, global Internet and Advanced services environment. In addition to daily Change Management, SLA compliance and routine break-fix duties, this position will develop and manage various projects to enhance & expand the network, including cost analysis (‘capex’ development), detailed design, project planning, implementation, detailed documentation and cross-training of peers. The selected individual must demonstrate excellent customer service & team building skills and will be required to routinely interact directly with customers, to serve as a technical mentor within the team, and to participate in & foster a “team environment.” This position will frequently be called upon to diagnose difficult network performance problems and interact with application support teams to diagnose Internet / network / application performance issues. This position operates in a 7x24x365 SLA driven environment, requiring flexible work hours.

Education and Typical expected experience:
Enterprise Core responsibilities (High SLA risk)

IT Firewall experience - (Checkpoint, CISCO, Juniper) Configuration, Troubleshooting and Support of large enterprise network environments

IT Security experience - working knowledge of IDS and IPS.(Cisco, Snort, Sourcefire, IntruShield)

Operating systems - knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems

Load Balancers - Cisco CSS, F5,Local Director, Cisco Content Engine

Proxy Services - Able to diagnose web based applications and problems (Cisco Content Engines, Microsoft proxy servers)

Internet/Enterprise advanced services – Qip, DNS, SMTP

Experience in network design and troubleshooting; Internet infrastructure, Local Area Network, Wide Area Networks, and merce type environments

Enterprise level network Internet, WAN, LAN support & engineering experience.

Superior knowledge, skills & experience with Cisco routing hardware, software, protocols, etc.

Strong working knowledge of structured cabling systems, network facilities, electrical, UPS, etc.

In-depth experience and talent in using packet / protocol analyzers, tcp dump to find and remedy application and network performance issues.

Ability to work alone as an individual contributor, as a technical lead (when required), and as a participant in a team environment.

Positive, proactive, “can do” attitude.

Willingness to participate in rotating schedules and share on-call duties.

7+ Years Internet / WAN / MAN / LAN Network Engineering is REQUIRED.

Professional Experience at an Enterprise Level in Network solutions is REQUIRED.

Firewall, DNS, Router, Switch and IP Configuration Experience is REQUIRED.

(Preferred) College degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering (or related technical degree).

Possesses several of the following technical certifications (or equivalent enterprise experience)

Cisco (CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, etc.)

Checkpoint (CCSA, CCSE, CCSE+), Provider 1 experience

Juniper (JNCIA, JNCIA-FWV, JNCIIA-SSL)

IP, DHCP, DNS administration experience
Alcutel/Lucent Qip, DNS
