SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for leading the planning, designing, installation, maintenance, and management of the enterprise wide area, local area, and datacenter network infrastructure connecting 70+ locations. Must have at least 10 years of Cisco routing and switching experience along with a strong understanding of convergence and Voice over IP technologies. Experience with MPLS and QoS is required, as well as expert knowledge of specific routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP and RIP. Avaya and Wireless network experience are pluses. CCIE, CCNP and CCVP certifications are preferred. The position will work as part of a team and as a strong technical resource for four other Network Engineers that also report to the Manager of Network Services. Position requires 24-hour on call capability on rotating basis and semi-frequent support of scheduled 2nd/3rd shift change implementations.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-Develop and implement cost effective network solutions in support of network requirements for the company
-Manage and ensure incoming Service Requests and Incident Tickets are executed and responded to in accordance with established Service Level Agreements. Provide 3rd level support, carry pager and be available 7/24 per on-call shifts.
-Responsible for creating, defining, and collecting network metrics, key performance indicators, and network policy compliance documentation.
-Provide leadership and mentoring to Network administrators/engineers on technical issues and review designs compiled by lower level staff
-Vendor management to include product evaluation, recommendation, and sourcing activities (e.g. RFQ's / RFP's)

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree, IT/Telecommunications required
- 8-10 LAN/WAN Design
- 3-5 years project management experience
- 3-5 years Convergence/VoLP experience
- CCIE / ITIL preferred
- DNS, MS Visio-Intermediate skill level
- Cisco Network Hardware / TCP / IP Protocols-Expert skill level
- Network Cabling Infrastructure-Advanced skill leveldf-tc
