Sr. Network Software Developer (SPE-1104)

Can you swim with the big fish? Grouper Networks is developing software and a service that allow people to share personal media such as video clips and photos both privately and publicly with friends. We are looking for a Senior Network Software developer to join our team and work on the networking core of the Grouper software - a desktop software application that uses P2P technologies for private and public video and photo sharing.
We are looking for someone that will maintain, improve and add features to our core networking code infrastructure. This is a dream job if you consider yourself a p2p networking expert and your passion is building cutting-edge distributed networks for Internet file sharing and would like to work in the personal media sharing space in a hot, small but well-funded startup software company.

What You Should Bring With You:
- 5 or more years developing scalable, multi-threaded, communications, messaging or other kinds of distributed software applications on the Windows platform in C++ or in JAVA.
- Working on TCP/IP based communications protocols and applications
- Working in a small team, shipping commercial software products, in a fast-paced startup environment
- NTH: Working on a p2p consumer software application

Technical Requirements
- Must be highly capable programming TCP/IP, UDP and HTTP on the Windows Platform
- Expert in p2p file sharing technology, applications, algorithms and protocols
- Solid understanding of existing p2p protocols and systems such as , Soulseek and eDonkey and of key p2p concepts such as swarming, seeding and distributed downloads.
- Solid understanding of the .Net framework class libraries and .Net programming patterns such as asynchronous programming, streams, events, delegates and multi-threaded programming
- Ability to work independently and to own core product features
- Ability to estimate and meet development schedules for owned features
- Solid technical understanding of Microsoft Windows
- Must Passionate about personal media sharing and social networks software systems
- Must be familiar with XML and XML Web Services
- Programming Languages
- Good command of: C/C++, C# and XML
