Description
Sr. Oracle Database Administrator/SQL Server Database Adminduites include:
Performing in a production envirnment this role plans, coordinates and administers matters related to Oracle/SQL database(s), including base definition, structures, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection.

Ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools, such as base dictionaries. Establishes and maintains security integrity controls.

Formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management.

May direct the following: troubleshooting, recovery, tuning of the database, software installation and upgrades, resolving Oracle/Sql errors and failures, auditing activities, and resource utilization.

PL/SQL development, with emphasis on DBA task automation particularly partition management.

Familiarity with ODS and Data Warehouse concepts in a manufacturing environment.
24/7 On-call Support for mission critical systems on rotational basis

The core competence for an Oracle DB Administrator includes installation, deployment and administration of the followingtechnologies:
Oracle 7x,8x, 9i and 10G RAC with key focus on highly transaction OLTPDBs
Advanced Oracle products such as Oracle Parallel Server, Real Application Clusters, Oracle Advanced Replication, Data Guard
HP-UX with MC Service Guard on EMC storage
Red Hat Linux 4, Oracle Cluster Ware
OEM market monitoring utilities like NetIQ, Questis preferred
Oracle backup utilities (RMAN, market backup utilities such as HP Omniback, Legato Networker)
Scripting languages for monitoring, evaluation, etc. the following outlines the duties required for the Oracle Database Administrator:
BS Degree in Computer Science or related field and 4 years Oracle DBA exeriencedf-tc
