This person will be using Delphi. We've found that individuals with VB experience have the most transferable skills to learn Delphi. This person must have SQL and Oracle exp. The individual will be using Delphi 7 and PL/SQL. We hare Oracle 9i. We have positions on both the support team and other project teams. On the support team the individual would be solving production problems as well as working on projects that are up to 3 months of effort. These tasks cover a wide range of business applications. On a project team, the projects are over 3 months of effort. Individuals are usually involved in all phases of the development life cycle. Individuals with experience in each of the life cycle phases are preferred.

Responsibilities: This position is responsible for writing the complex programs of development projects, as well as maintaining and supporting existing applications. This position is also responsible for translating business requirements into effective and efficient computer systems for small projects or a sub-system of a larger project. This person will be capable of completing the detail design phase of a project by preparing program specifications. This position is responsible for the design, coding, unit and system testing, documentation, assisting in training and implementation of projects, programs, work flows, etc. which are assigned by the Project Manger/ Leader.

This position is responsible for maintaining a very high level of technical expertise on all operating systems, software and hardware platforms.

Experience/Skills
Qualifications: At least 8 years of technical experience in the design, development and deployment of complex business applications. Should be proficient in technical design areas and system testing. Work on a team and independently within established coding standards as well as a full life cycle methodology. Well defined communication skills and a demonstrated aptitude for communication with both the technical staff and end-users to understand application requirements and design.

Experience/ familiarity with one or more of the following software environments:

- Client/ server and Web development using Visual Basic, Delphi, .Net, Java, etc.

- MQ Series

- Oracle - data design, triggers, stored procedures

- SQL

- Unix scripting

Retail, distribution or manufacturing exposure within the last 6 years is required. Client/ server applications will be developed in Delphi, so special consideration will be given to candidates with strong Delphi background.
