HERES WHAT WE NEED

A Project Manager for immediate start in the Raleigh, NC area. Project Manager needs to develop, establish, implement and control best practices for IT project management. This includes defining and documenting all policies and processes of project lifecycles in order to deliver these projects according to plan and within budget. The PM will also create formal methodologies for defining project key performance metrics and allocating resources.

Direct and manage IT projects from beginning to end.
Develop best practices, techniques, and tools for project planning, execution, project management, ongoing milestone/deliverable tracking, communication and key performance metrics.
Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with IT, senior management, and stakeholders.
Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
Effectively communicate and manage project expectations to owners, sponsors, team members, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise fashion.
Accept and assess status reports, change requests, and requirements documentation to ensure smooth project progression.
Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
Identify and facilitate the resolution of issues and conflicts within the project teams
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within and between various project teams
Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
Track project milestones and deliverables
Develop and deliver progress reports
Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and work with IT members to devise contingency plans
Work with IT members and Stakeholders to define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Ensure Project Team is accountable for assigned tasks.

Experience/Skills
Summary of Qualifications:
BS degree
Must have at least 5 years of progressive, professional project management experience involving software or web development projects
Must have experience with the software development life cycle
Must have expertise in Microsoft Project or other formal scheduling tool, Microsoft Project Server experience is a plus
Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of formal project management terms and methodology, PMI PMP certification a must
Must be proficiency with Microsoft office products
Must have experience running projects for teams of 5 20 people
Must be comfortable coordinating and leading multiple meetings per week
Must be willing to travel on occasion
