Based in Manhattan, NY & Sydney, Australia, we are a well financed start-up company that specializes in developing Real Time bidding software that is used in the online advertising industry. Due to massive growth and the opening of our new office in NYC, we are looking to hire for a FT/Permanent Sr. Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a Scientist who can analyze terabytes of data and billions of rows to discover correlations and patterns to come up with algorithms and strategies for bidding on inventory exchanges such as right media, double-click and other incumbents. Typical candidates for this role have not only developed data mining algorithms but also built large scale systems incorporating them. This is a hands-on role and if you have dealt with large amounts of sparse data and love to work with a team of smart engineers, you will love this job!

Responsibilities:
~Research, investigate, pick industrial data mining/machine learning algorithms.
~Implement these algorithms using grid computing & affect the product direction.

EXPERIENCE:
1.) 6+ years of industry experience in data mining and machine learning on large amounts of sparse data. Must have a good understanding of algorithms, data structures, performance optimization techniques, and object-oriented programming. Large scale data manipulation.

2.) Experience developing software using Java/C/C++ on Linux. Experience with Hadoop or MapReduce is a huge plus!

3.) MS/Ph.D. in computer science (with emphasis in data mining/machine learning/artificial intelligence/mathematics/OR).

4.) Should have a strong background in Linear algebra/matrix operations.
