Senior Software Engineer (Windows/Linux Drivers)


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Delivering software from start to end product, duties includes system design, software coding, implementation, unit and integration testing, test utilities and documentation, process-improvement and support Product Life Cycles.

Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Participate on review teams, project meetings.

Build Software Installer package, test and release on the Web.
Responsible for the day to day activities of the testing of a storage product including interactions with customers and internal groups.

Participate in the specification of features and architecture of hardware and firmware components for new products to ensure they can be validated.

Programming with Win32 API, developing WDM driver.

Qualifications:

Very organized with strong documentation, tracking and detail management. Does not let things fall through cracks.

Takes initiative (i.e. fixes problems without prompting and tries to head off known upcoming issues before they become problems).

Track record of successful software project management.
Creative problem solver.
Advanced debugging skills
Education and/or Experience

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering Or equivalent experience necessary.

6-7+ years demonstrated software development experience.

Experience working in a team environment. (Most Important)
Direct experience in dealing with customers in pursuit of new product design in and technical support.

Experience with USB drivers and USB stack preferred.

Experience with driver interfaces, DiFX and INF files.

Experience with Windows Application Development using MS Visual Studio and debugging.

Experience in LINUX device driver development highly desirable.

Experience in embedded firmware development, doing system-level software development and support (firmware and device driver development, understanding bootloader/bootcode).

Experience writing MSI / Installshield Installers preferred.
Experience with Adobe Flash Professional plus.
Experience with Bug Tracking and Source Control.


Specific Knowledge:

Full understanding and extensive experience with Windows kernel mode driver architecture and Windows operating system required, along with experience.

Knowledge of certification processes such as WHQL desirable.
Strong knowledge of PC hardware architecture and fundamentals required.

Strong knowledge in LINUX device driver architecture and LINUX operating systems highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of debugging tools under Window and LINUX.
Basic knowledge of network protocols: IP, UDP, TCP and Ethernet.
