Description
xScion Solutions is an IT professional services firm supporting commercial clients in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Our clients span the financial services, banking, educational and health care sectors. We are currently recruiting for two Sr. Software Engineers who possess solid expertise in Java / JavaScript for a 6 month temp-to-permanent contract with a leading financial firm.

NOTE: All candidates must be local to the Washington, DC area and be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident / EAD holder. No exceptions.

Job Duties:

- Perform analysis, design, development and unit testing of software applications from user requirements and design documents
- Resolve defects encountered during various testing cycles
- Work closely with other team members and IT groups in a dynamic environment
- Perform as senior technical resource regarding the planning, coordination and organization of project.

Required Skills:

- 6+ years systems development experience and knowledge of system technologies
- 3+ years Java/J2EE development experience in a WebSphere environment
- Struts frameworks, Object oriented design and design patterns knowledge
- J2EE, Java, EJB, Servlets, JSP, RAD6, Web GUI Development
- Working knowledge of RDBMS (prefer DB2, Oracle), SQL, JDBC
- Advance knowledge of systems analysis and design techniques of which two years
must be in program development.
- Demonstrated ability to apply structured programming, design, and analysis techniques
- Experience in Project management (requirements gathering, planning, customer communication)
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Prior expertise in the banking, financial services sector is preferred
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other IT related field

Desired Skills:

- 5+ years experience with Lotus Notes client, Domino programming & Web development
- Experience with Lotus script. Formula Language, HTML. XML, JavaScript
