Limelight Solutions Engineers blend a technical background with strong business sense. A key contributor to the sales cycle, Solutions Engineers will identify key customer requirements related to content delivery and streaming services and match these requirements to specific limelight networks solutions. Solutions Engineers are providers of education about Limelight services to our customers, able to clearly articulate the benefits of Limelight solutions and effortlessly address any technical objectives of our clients.

Limelight Solutions Engineers lead the provision of pre- and post- sales support for new and existing clients and accounts. Assists in the direction of a team of solutions engineers to drive sales, using broad, high-level knowledge of Internet architectures. Directs, designs, documents, and implements solutions incorporating business planning, network design, and capacity planning.

Responsibilities:
As important members of the full life cycle of the sales cycle, Solutions Engineers will engage in conference calls, in person visits, respond to RFP/RFI's, and address all technical concerns during each phase of the sales cycle including implementation.

Solutions engineers offer a unique perspective to our sales and product develop departments and are expected to be thought leaders in the space, providing guidance to product development and mentoring to the sales organization. Assists the sales team in achieving specific direct sales revenue goals by managing the technical sales portion of the prospecting and provisioning stages, using a thorough understanding of Limelight Networks' technologies. Designs, documents, and assists in the implementation of solutions.

Communicates account status with sales team and customer staff.

Develops major technical pre-sales design recommendations and related justifications within the context of defined and client-approved requirements and constraints.

Communicates technical design requirements, constraints, functionality, and implementation details. Participates in the training and development of associate engineers. Provides guidance and mentoring for staff.

Experience/Skills
Experience with relevant CDN technologies a must; these include familiarity with DNS, caching, server scripting (Apache, IIS) and web acceleration technologies.

Solutions Engineers at Limelight have an established history working in the internet space, particularly in networking and web development with a focus on emerging technologies and the rich media space.

Prior Government experience and Government security clearances a plus

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Minimum three years experience in sales engineering in a related environment required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well a true display of being a "team player" are paramount to success in the role.

Frequent travel required.
