Description
Position Summary:

The Senior System Engineer (SSE) will deliver top quality computer and network integration services and consulting to companys customers.

The SSE will work closely with other System Engineers in a team environment as well as provide technical support for internal systems, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction in all areas.

The SSE will be responsible for providing varying levels of IT support. This may include all aspects of IT support, and will often require onsite visits to meet with clients and/or work remotely with little direct supervision.

The SSE will be responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed technical documentation (network diagrams, configuration documents, important user name/passwords, etc.)

Infrequent evening and weekend work is possible and expected

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in design of network deployments including Active Directory, Server 2000/2003, Exchange 2000/2003, SQL 2000/2005 and all levels of networking

Act as primary technical point of contact for assigned customers

Provide end user support for clients including installation of hardware and software as well as helpdesk assistance

Provide top level troubleshooting and diagnostic services for all levels of problems both external and internal

Travel to clients sites to provide services and support

Provide daily monitoring of servers and alerting for issues and errors which include patching and reporting as well as backup services using companys network monitoring and management tools

Provide pre-sales technical assistance and support for new and existing customers

Continue to pursue certifications and new technologies in accordance with industry standards and needs

Experience/Skills
Skills/Knowledge Requirements:

Small Business Server 2000/2003 3 years

Windows Server 2000/2003 6 years

Windows XP, 2000 Professional 6 years

Exchange 2000/2003 3 years

SQL 2000/2005 a plus

Experience with Dell PowerEdge and HP NL/DL servers 5 years

PC/Laptop hardware troubleshooting experience

Symantec Backup Exec, NT Backup experience

CA eTrust and other Anti-virus/Anti-Spam Software

Sonicwall or other Firewall/VPN Devices

Wireless configuration and troubleshooting

Hardware/Software troubleshooting

Cisco experience a plus

Experience working as a network consultant providing proactive network monitoring and managed care services a big plus

Customer service skills: must be able to interact positively with customers and employees

Team player must be willing to act as a team member or take lead on team projects when necessary

Enjoy IT work and desires to grow technically

Ongoing desire to continue education, certifications and learn new technologies

Education/Training Requirements:

4 year degree REQUIRED in Computer Science major or related discipline preferred
