Position Specific Information:

This is a staff-level position, providing support for the Bay Medical Center (BMC) day-to-day Operations.This position coordinates and installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems.This position also performs routine maintenance and changes as scheduled.Maintains data files and monitors system configurations to ensure data integrity.This position is also familiar with industry best practices, standard concepts and procedures, as well as server hardware and Cisco networking infrastructure.May lead and serve as advisor to other technical support staff as needed.Works closely with the BMC IT Management Team to provide future state growth visioning.The position is critical to the ongoing support and maintenance of high levels of service to BMC clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Monitor supported systems; both those physically located at BMC and at the Dearborn Processing Center (DDC)
- Perform routine maintenance of all supported systems based on established schedules and procedures
- Serves as liaison with DDC and NetLinc staff to perform system backups and recovery.
- Serves as liaison with DDC and NetLinc staff for evaluation and specification of new server and networking hardware
- Executes routine jobs based on established schedules and procedures
- Respond to problems or errors identified via established problem resolution procedures
- Evaluate and coordinate all events, including troubleshooting, problem resolution, and escalation with - -- NetLinc, the Help Desk, other DDC staff and management
- Proactively monitor and manage systems through the evaluation of system logs, various monitoring tools and the application of technical skills to prevent and resolve issues
- Serves as Project Manager on assigned initiatives
- Liaison between vendor and client for technical issues.
- Implement Change Controls as scheduled
- Monitor and update processes and procedures
- Adheres to BMC and ACS HCS security standards
- Other duties as assigned by the BMC Management Team

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

- A good understanding of an Operational environment
- Experience in healthcare environments and with hospital applications such as McKesson STAR, McKesson Horizon Suite, TrendStar and other applications hosted on
- Proficient in Windows Networking Operating Systems and Windows Active Directory
- A good understanding of Citrix environments, server clustering technologies, UNIX-based systems, MS SQL and LAN/WAN/SAN networking technologies
- Familiarity with remote control software (pcAnywhere, RDP, etc.)
- Working knowledge of installing, configuring, and troubleshooting a wide-range of applications a plus
- Knowledge of enterprise management frameworks such as HP OpenView or Tivoli is a plus
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, multi-task, troubleshoot, and analyze systems issues
- Proven ability to effectively communicate and facilitate problem resolution with customer base
- A good understanding of escalation and follow-up
- A high level of motivation and the desire to advance technical knowledge


Credentials and Experience
