SENIOR WINDOWS ENGINEER

Absolute Performance is a global managed service provider headquartered in Boulder, Colorado. We provide remote monitoring and management of client IT systems as well as design and implementation services and IT business process consulting. Our clients range from Fortune 1000 corporations and large government agencies to mid-market and small businesses.

We are seeking a Senior Windows Engineer who will be primarily responsible, implementation, management and support of enterprise-class Windows-based environments. Duties will include on-call pager rotation. The IDEAL CANDIDATE has an in-depth understanding of Windows-based environments and excellent verbal and written communication skills. A positive, team-oriented attitude is required.

Position Responsibilities

- Provide 24/7 operations support when on-call for globally dispersed, remotely managed business systems.
- Architect high availability platform solutions using standard load balancing and failover techniques.
- Participate in the design and creation of complete outsourced solution proposals.
- Train Tier 1 and Tier 2 support individuals, as needed, to provide customer help desk support.
- Create and support change control processes for various Windows platforms.
- Facilitate event management and communication during problem resolution and clean up.

Qualifications

- 5+ years experience with enterprise-class Windows-based environments including system architecture and implementation as well as maintenance and support.
- 3+ years experience in an on-call rotation providing 24/7 Tier 2 support with proven problem resolution skills and event management experience.
- Architectural and working experience with Exchange platforms, SQL Server, SharePoint, SMS, and IIS in mid-level and enterprise architectures.
- Experience working with MSCS clustering, load balancing, and other high availability mediums within Windows environments.
- Thorough understanding of complex networking topologies, security architectures, remote access methods, and policy development.
- Proven ability to design project plans for system builds, migrations, integrations and customizations while accounting for risk and forecasting technical issues.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Solutions framework

Other Desirable Qualifications

- MCSE or equivalent experience.
- VB Scripting Ability.
- Ability to author WMI and Active Directory Scripts.
- Working knowledge of Citrix, Veritas and Tivoli backup software, ERP / CRM / EAI customization and implementation projects.
- Experience with networking appliances, firewalls, VPN solutions, and remote access / authentication solutions.
