Atlanta based company is seeking a Sr. Java/J2EE Consultant for their downtown office. This is a 6 months+ position.

Description:

This position provides the opportunity to develop new system functionality on a large scale, high volume Client Server system. It also includes level 2 application supports for calls originating from the client s IT Help Desk.

Major responsibilities are as follows:

• Produce timely deliverables of high quality according to the client s standards ensuring adherence to project management standards and methodology as documented in the client s SDLC.
• Support mission critical applications with on-call duty.
• Produce good documentation for all aspects of development activities.
• Interface with customers, business partners, internal IT application programmers, and internal business contacts for both new development and problem determination/resolution.
• Assure the highest levels of stability, integrity, reliability, security, and availability of the production application environment, consistent with the established change control policies and prescribed procedures.
• Execute special projects or other related duties as required.

Skills Required:

• Java programming skills (minimum of 3 years)
• Strong SQL skills and thorough understanding of using SQL against large-sized relational databases (minimum of 3 years)
• Strong Object Oriented Analysis/Design/Programming skills
• N-Tier Architectures
• Development experience on a J2EE Application Server such as Weblogic, WebSphere, or JBoss.
• Code development experience on large and complex system applications
• Experience in software design, interface design, coding and Scripting
• Knowledge of Web Services
• Experience supporting mission critical applications
• Experience developing applications within a disciplined development methodology such as SDLC, UML, etc.
• Strong testing skills
• High level of initiative and attention to detail
• Strong teamwork ethic and customer support focus
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong debugging and problem solving skills
