POSITION SUMMARY:

Maintain the company’s disk Storage Area Networks in a way that ensures 100% compliance with customer SLA’s. Provide technical leadership to other SAN Administrators. Assist in setting standards for system design, use and services.

Required Skills:
· Strong communication skills. Capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a vendor liaison, making presentations to customer or client audiences or professional peers, and working closely with management..
· Ability to solve problems quickly and completely.
· A solid understanding of SAN administration; experience with storage provisioning, SAN fabric zoning, installation and configuration of HBA drivers and any related third-party storage software. Ability to evaluate and recommend new technologies.
· Extensive experience with Hitachi Data Systems storage arrays (models 9980 and USP-V) , SUN Storage model SE 9990 and Brocade McData Director class fibre channel switches. Experience in Network Appliance, IBM and EMC DMX is also desirable.
· A solid understanding of a windows, and UNIX-based operating systems.




Required Background
· More than three years of previous disk Storage Area Network administration experience.

Desirable
· A degree in computer science or related field or equivalent job experience.
· SNIA certification.
· Certification with Storage Vendors
· Vendor training in Hitachi / storage arrays and McData fibre switches.
· Scripting

Appropriate Responsibilities
· Design/implement complex enterprise-wide disk SANs.
· Understand and ensure compliance with customer SLA’s as they pertain to disk performance.
· Manage disk SANs for the entire company.
· Works under general direction from management.
· Recommend policies on system design, use and services.
· Provide technical leadership to other team members.
· Provide on-call support during evenings and weekends on a rotating basis.
