SMARTSOURCE is in need of a Sun Certified resource for a 1-3 year contract in Birmingham, AL 35201


Job type: contract
Duration: 1 to 3 years
Start Date: ASAP


Must be a credentialed Sun Certified technician possessing expert working knowledge of complex systems administration and configuration of Sun Certified servers and equipment, Sun Solaris9, Sun Solaris10, Veritas NetBackup and FalconStor IPStor Storage Solutions in order to successfully update, administer, and configure all related IT servers, software, and storage as necessary.



a) Developing, administering, maintaining, configuring, and installing network systems and equipment.

b) Assuring network backup routines and data restoring capabilities.

c) Troubleshooting and correcting system or connectivity problems.

d) Updating, installing and configuring hardware and software required.

e) Analyzing and making recommendations with respect to system configuration and system upgrades.

f) Providing assistance in implementing recommendations

g) Documentation of all procedures used to maintain and administer for servers and equipment.



h) Create and maintain detailed architectural design diagrams and plans.

i) Develop an Operational Test and Evaluation Plan report

Provide knowledge transfer to IT systems administrators.
