DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The position of Engineer/Sr. Consultant is part of Plante & Moran’s Management Consulting Global Services team. Plante & Moran’s solutions-oriented Global Services consultants can step in at any phase of global business evolution, providing support in several areas, from analyzing foreign market opportunities to identifying important business issues. Plante & Moran Global Services’ projects under the supplier development umbrella have expanded to include supplier identification and capability assessment, launch support, program management, production audit and inspection, production supervision, and setting up capital assets effectively and efficiently.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sr. Consultant/ Engineer position within our Global Services team is an integral position of importance and contributes to various key projects that are essential to the client’s success. This person will quickly become a trusted advisor to the Global Services Manager and will need to develop strong client relationships.

Job Responsibilities include:
Global Sourcing and Consulting Projects:
  • Day to day program Management
  • RFQ Administration
  • Data/Product Management
  • Supplier Administration
  • Overseas Office Communication
    Sales & Marketing:
  • Presentation Development
  • Proposal Development
  • Focused Product Marketing (i.e. Tech Days)
  • Assist with Client Market Study Projects
  • Track & Document Global Market Information

    TRAVEL:
    20% travel is required with this position. International travel will be required.

    EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering; MBA is preferred
  • 5 - 8 years experience as a sales engineer or program manager; International Focus and/or Experience with an international company is highly preferred
  • Local & International Travel Required
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Excellent Data Management Skills (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
  • Strong written, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.df-tc
