We have an immediate need for a Survey Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION
Survey Technican:



Serves as a survey crew member performing a wide variety of surveys including, but not limited to: transmission line and highway route, boundary, route, geodetic control, GPS, construction, hydrographic, topographic, volumetric, flood study, photo control and deformation.



Assigned tasks may include:

1. Performs a variety of field surveying task to produce field surveys in accordance with clients Transmission Line Standards.

2. Serves as an instrument person and/or rodman on surveys which require demonstrated surveying skill and proficiency.

3. Records survey data, including topographic data, centerline profile and property line ties using electronic survey data collectors and is responsible for the accuracy and adequacy of the information obtained.

4. Prepares field notes and sketches, performs alternate calculations relative to surveys and is responsible for the accuracy and adequacy of the information obtained.

5. Assists the party chief making initial contacts with property owners. Discusses problems with property owners and participates in the resolution of the same.

6. Performs various survey activities to most efficiently support the survey team.

7. Performs other duties as assigned

8. Employee will primarily be in travel status inside and outside of the client's territory.



SKILLS

-Demonstrated skill in surveying methods and use of latest surveying technology and equipment.

-Demonstrated skill in surveyed related mathematics (geometry, trigonometry).

-Demonstrated proficiency at using data collection system.

-Must have knowledge of personal computer and be able to use surveying related software.

-Must be able to interpret engineering plans, highway drawings, specifications and land descriptions.

-Must be able to effectively work as a team member and effectively communicate with associates.

**2 yr./4 yr. degree in surveying and/or licensed surveyor a plus.
