Description
Foreign field service assignment with the U-2 program at Det 1. Position is for an avionics and inertial navigation system tech rep, which also requires performance as an Air Force 7-skill level equivalent in electrical and all avionics system specialties. Perform flight line support duties and hands-on work as assigned by LM Aero and/or deployed maintenance supervisors; perform aircraft periodic inspection tasks as needed; and perform repair, modification, and calibration of LN-33 inertial navigation units. Troubleshooting skills, knowledge of tech data, Air Force work documentation systems, and hands-on expertise required. Must know and apply Air Force rules and processes for performing and controlling aircraft maintenance activities as well as being capable of providing informal OJT on U-2 electrical and avionics systems to Air Force personnel. Must have minimum of two years on the U-2 aircraft due to the 7-skill level equivalence requirement. Prefer experience with fiber optics. Position is designated mission essential and world-wide deployable which means anthrax/smallpox vaccinations, chemical warfare training and exercise participation and other related training; can be deployed forward to another location from this location. Ability to work with others and strengthen team effort required. May be required to live in government furnished quarters and travel by military airlift. Must have basic desktop computer skills email and word processing; database a plus. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.



General Position Description
Provides a level of postsales support and service to customer sites and remote sites at a high-tech level that cannot be rendered by the basic level of field hardware and systems software service. Employee is usually introduced to the customer site when the nature of equipment service required is beyond the skill level possessed by the basic field/customer service engineer.

Typical Minimum Education
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.
