System Administrator, Journeyman

Project Details: 5 UNIX System Administrators to work local or remote with the following skills (primary focus is to execute server remediation from EMC Embedded base to Invista Levels and migrate onto Invista Virtual Storage and er-tier as necessary). Start date ASAP. Approximately 780 ST hours each. AIX/Linux/Solaris - multiple versions, (mostly Linux/Solaris); windows would be good as well. How to troubleshoot, how to research info on the server, how to find if other apps or jvms are running, how to look at processes and tell which are OS related and know how to figure out those that aren't, what they are related to. Check server logs for recent logins, check for scheduled jobs, check for active connections, etc Familiar with DBs, clustering. Familiar with MQ - how to check channels against what's being requested in the decommission request and research those not in the request. Perform backups Familiar with different types of HW, especially large frame types - know that in a large frame if not careful you could cause an outage to other LPARs or domains. Familiar with SAN, how to tell it's connected, how it's configured.
