Description
Description The Systems Administrator will provide hardware or software assistance and problem resolution; troubleshoot client problems, repairs, servers, Web systems. Intermediate level working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (OS) & various Unix OS required. Computer and networking skills needed prior to placement on the job. May bend, stoop, sit and/or walk for long periods of time. Work in room with continuous computer equipment noise. Shipping/receiving duties may be required.

Requirements:
1. Cabling - install cables, connections and cross-connects to data center and customer equipment; utilize Fluke and Tberd testers; connect circuits using correct pin-out assignments; install/test/maintain/label Fiber, Cat6, Coax cabling per EIA/TIA standards.
2. Installations - install (rack/stack/cable/configure) server hardware platforms and related equipment; install Windows, Unix, Linux, Sun Solaris. Review supporting documentation for operations and installation of hardware. Implement systems and software upgrades and OS config. changes. Install Routers and Switches and manage cabling for these devices.
3. Database - update inventories, work with multiple ticketing and database systems. Maintain a knowledge of building infrastructure (UPS, Generators, HVAC, Electrical components, Security and Surveillance systems and other facilities maintenance)
Interfacing with internal and external clients on a regular basis.
4. May be required to lift over 50 pounds
5. Color perception is necessary in order to perform certain critical aspects of this job.
6. May be required to work Day, Evening or Night shifts and weekends and other overtime.

Qualifications:
  • Required Certification: CCNA
  • Data Center Operations Intermediate Desired
  • Hardware Knowledge Intermediate Required
  • Windows Server 2003 OS, TCP/IP Protocols, Modems Intermediate Required
  • Windows Sun Solaris/Red Hat, Unix, Linux Intermediate Required
  • LAN/WAN architecture Intermediate Required
  • System Admin - patch upgrades, tape back-up Intermediate Required
  • Cisco Routers/Switches Intermediate Required
  • Cat 6/7 & fiber-optic cabling Intermediate Required
  • Troubleshooting fiber & Ethernet Intermediate Required
  • Cross-connects Intermediate Required
