Description
Resolves complex customer service and technical problems using past experience, and by utilizing multiple resources; via telephone or other multi-media communications methods in support of internal and/or outside customer computer hardware, software/application. Assist Field Engineers with resolving complex HP-UX and SUN issues by working with OEM vendors, utilizing past experience and by referring to/utilizing vendor manuals and other available technical documentation. Performs core dump analysis on HP-UX & SUN systems. Maintains and updates records and tracking databases. Alerts management to recurring problems and patterns of problems. May be required to learn new operating systems, hardware, and/or applications as needed to perform this position. Vendor training or certifications will be required based upon vendor support partnerships. Training will be provided via various methods to include CBT; some certifications require annual re-certifications. May be required to work rotating shifts and/or provide standby coverage during holidays or as situations arise.df-tc
