Large Scale Fortune 300 Finance Company looking for a successful minded individual to join their team!

Under general direction from the Information Technologies Manager, the Systems Engineer performs a variety of complex professional duties in providing information systems and technology support; administers, maintains operating stability and efficiency of core Windows server systems and infrastructure; conducts necessary technology research; recommends, deploys and configures new hardware and software; and performs related duties as assigned.

DETAILED DUTIES:

-- Overall accountability for the stability of the server infrastructure and environment.
-- Candidate is empowered to recommend and make changes to the environment to ensure high system availability.
-- Candidate will work with the development staff in managing hot fixes and upgrades to the hardware. Candidate will be the primary administrator for this function.
-- Candidate will monitor the health of all servers in the environment, and will maintain disaster recovery readiness. This includes verification of data synchronization between sites and monitoring the health of all windows cluster boxes. The candidate is expected to take proactive steps to maintain high availability of all critical servers in the environment.
-- Research, test and deploy Windows security and hot fixes to the environment in accordance with Microsoft and various application developers system's recommendations.

Experience/Skills
QUALIFICATIONS:

-- 3-5 years experience with data center grade hardware and procedures.
-- 5-7 years of experience in the design and implementation of a complex multi-server environments
-- Experience with web-based and client/server applications.
-- Websphere experience a plus.
-- Exchange experience a plus.
-- Experience with Windows Cluster Management.
-- Familiarity with Quest Foglight and Spotlight a plus.
-- Advanced knowledge of system security utilities, including firewalls.
-- Advanced knowledge and experience with MS Windows Server administration. With experience in Windows 2000 Advanced and Windows 2003 Enterprise / Data Center editions.
-- Ability to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors and to provide solutions to the most complex problems, utilizing all tools, methodologies and refined troubleshooting techniques.
-- Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction between diverse groups of individuals.
-- Ability to work nights, and weekends when the work load demands.
-- Ability to travel occasionally.
