System Engineer

Minimum Selection Criteria:

• Thorough knowledge of computer operating systems, equipment, terminology, network systems administration, installation/maintenance/troubleshooting practices and techniques, and implementation and maintenance of Internet services. 


• Knowledge of the techniques of computer software/hardware and network support for multiple users. 


• Strong knowledge of Windows 2000/2003, along with Microsoft Internet Information Services.


• Knowledge of the design, planning, and leveraging of Active Directory for authentication services for enterprise applications (such as SQL, Wireless, etc.)


• Equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree and five years' hands-on Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 administration experience, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above duties.

Desirable Requirements:

• Possession of Microsoft, Cisco, A+/Comptia, Certified Internet, Novell, Webmaster and/or JAVA Developer certifications.

Special Requirements/Licenses:

• Possession of Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certifications.

Essential Functions:

Administer all aspects and serve as the system administrator on mission critical network servers and their operating systems.  Design, plan, configure, install and ensure functionality of network devices and servers.  Troubleshoot server problems and provide user support on system issues.  Develop and recommend strategies for the implementation of new software and hardware technologies.
