Summary
Responsible for implementing and maintaining mid range systems for the TSYS environments. This includes all approved vendor hardware and software for enabling the developmental and operational groups to perform their assigned tasks. Serves as a technical resource for the company and is responsible for resolving issues with the hardware and software used at the TSYS installations. Responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting system (CPU, memory, I/O, paging, threads, etc.) utilization statistics. Perform analysis, optimization and tuning and provide recommendations for improved processing capability within a dynamic distributed systems environment experiencing rapid growth.

The Lead System Software Analyst must be able to successfully collaborate with business and technical professionals at a variety of levels. Using strong oral and written communication skills, must be able to analyze business processes, processing requirements and provide recommendations for processing solutions, capacity planning and growth expectations. Candidate must be able to communicate complex topics, interact with multiple technical and business groups and provide internal presentations and training. Formulates/defines scope and objective of projects. Performs thorough research and analysis of designs and modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and software limitations. The Lead System Software Analyst plans advanced and functionally defined assignments and goals, with alternatives, actions, and results clearly specified. Assists management by providing accurate estimates of work effort and impact of projects and tasks. Serves as a technical consultant within area(s) of expertise and determines impact of system/software changes within assigned functional area. Assumes a leadership role in respect to on-call responsibilities and leads junior team members when appropriate.

The Lead System Software Analyst has a broad understanding of his/her role in the department and division, the structure of the company, and the corporate culture.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the successful installation, maintenance, and monitoring of operating systems.
Solves complex problems through on-going, thorough research and analysis of designs and modification of procedures.
Prepares detailed project specifications and timelines for project management.
Conducts presentations of funds and design documents to technical, administrative, and all levels of management.
Instructs, directs, and checks the work of other Technical Support personnel.
Assumes responsibility for project completion in an accurate and timely manner, including tasks performed by team members.
Participates in career development process and demonstrates leadership in role as a team player.
Promotes adherence to department practices, standards, policies, procedures, and methodologies.
Applies technical knowledge and skills necessary to complete and document complex projects.
Understands the Technical Support area as it relates to assigned projects/tasks and how the area interacts with other functional areas.
Demonstrates the ability to accept additional responsibility.
Displays substantial initiative and a cooperative attitude.
Resolves, and leads others in resolving, on-call and daily issues.

Education/Experience
Four year college degree and 6 or more years of professional experience or 8 or more years of professional experience is required to include MS Windows, Solaris, AIX, Linux, MS SQL Server, WebSphere/ Portal, VMware, AD, TCP/IP, NAT, LDAP, High Availability, Clustering. Systems administration with strong analytical, interpersonal communication and technical documentation skills required. 5+ years of IT industry experience, 2+ years of Windows operating systems experience, 2+ years of UNIX or Linux operating systems experience required. Ability to perform business analysis, identify technical requirements and provide solution recommendations. Ability to monitor processing resource utilization, provide performance tuning, perform optimization and recommend improvements using industry standard performance analysis tools. Production Operations experience considered a MUST. Network communications and security experience, project management experience, financial services industry experience considered a plus.df-tc
