Senior UNIX System Administrator with strong customer service, production support, and disciplined change management skills. 8+ years of IT industry experience 5+ years of 24x7 UNIX on-call IT production environment support 2+ years of RedHat system administration 2+ years Apache administration experience 2+ years JBoss application server administration experience Strong shell scripting experience Detailed understanding of IP-based networking, routing, firewalls, SSH, DNS, DHCP, SSL, NFS, NTP Strong ability to troubleshoot complex production environments.

Manages time and shifting priorities effectively and maintains a positive attitude in the face of varying and sometimes conflicting business requirements. Strong written and oral communication skills; capable of writing usable technical documentation, documenting and following recurring procedures, training internal customers in complex topics, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with other teams.

Strong analytical problem solving skills; understands how other aspects of the IT environment such as firewalls, DNS, network design, storage architecture, and tiered architectures can impact local systems. Capable of working with other teams (Networking, Security, Development, Project Management) to troubleshoot problems.

A solid understanding of a UNIX-based operating system; writing scripts, system installation and configuration, automated monitoring systems, security hardening, automated management, patch management, installing third-party software, and resolving open source dependency requirements.

Experienced with networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can configure NFS, DNS, understands networking concepts such as firewall filtering, gateways, and traffic management.

Disciplined planning and management of changes designed to improve the stability, performance, and security of the overall product platform. Candidate should be experienced with formal change management procedures, documentation, testing, validation, and back-out plans.


The Lead System Software Analyst has a broad understanding of his/her role in the department and division, the structure of the company, and the corporate culture.

Responsibilities
? Responsible for the successful installation, maintenance, and monitoring of operating systems.
? Solves complex problems through on-going, thorough research and analysis of designs and modification of procedures.
? Prepares detailed project specifications and timelines for project management.
? Conducts presentations of funds and design documents to technical, administrative, and all levels of management.
? Instructs, directs, and checks the work of other Technical Support personnel.
? Assumes responsibility for project completion in an accurate and timely manner, including tasks performed by team members.
? Participates in career development process and demonstrates leadership in role as a team player.
? Promotes adherence to department practices, standards, policies, procedures, and methodologies.
? Applies technical knowledge and skills necessary to complete and document complex projects.
? Understands the Technical Support area as it relates to assigned projects/tasks and how the area interacts with other functional areas.
? Demonstrates the ability to accept additional responsibility.
? Displays substantial initiative and a cooperative attitude.
? Resolves, and leads others in resolving, on-call and daily issues.

Education/Experience
Four year college degree and 6 or more years professional experience or 8 or more years professional experience is required. Appropriate TSYS experience is preferred.

Responsible for ensuring infrastructure integrity, optimal performance and maximum service availability by recommending industry best practices for component maintenance, identifying problems and inefficiencies in the current environment and making strategic recommendations for future improvements.

Daily tasks will include prioritizing problem resolution, interaction with internal organizations such as Distributed Systems (UNIX), Security, Audit, Project Management Office, Client Services, Account Managers, Production Planners, Application Developmendf-tc
