Job Summary:
Provides system administration and support in a UNIX/PC environment. Provides analysis of Air and Space Operations Center (AOC) Command and Control (C2) and Modeling and Simulation (M&S) system architecture and design and makes necessary modifications to facilitate system growth and capability enhancements. Supports worldwide system deployments for exercise, demonstration, training, and experimentation. Job requires installing and maintaining new/updated versions of software, daily configuration/reconfiguration of hardware/software suites, upgrading the operating system and installing the latest operating system patches, performing daily/weekly/monthly backups, the restoration of files, administering user accounts, performing user maintenance on UNIX and PC servers and workstations, monitoring network performance and network security issues. Administer system mail and SIPRNET access, make new network and interface cabling, participate in technical meetings with customers and implement 505 CCW, USAF, and DOD policies. Have frequent contact with the customer and other members of the organization outside of your work group.

Essential Job Functions:
System administration for AOC and M&S systems will include support necessary for training, testing, exercising, and experimenting events scheduled for the 505 CCW and it's subordinate units. M&S systems include but are not limited to AWSIMS, JQUAD, JTLS, LOGSIM, C2WSPTT. AOC systems include but are not limited to TBMCS, ADOCS, GCCS, C2PC, ADSI, TRS, IWS, mIRC, portal. Administration of the Solaris 2.8, 2.9 Operating System is essential as well as a working knowledge of the Windows operating system (NT, WINDOWS 2000, XP).
Implements TBMCS/TCT/GCCS/ABCS and other C2 software applications for the 505 CCW AOC and modeling and simulation areas.
Leads a team of automated data process analysts for exercises, deployment planning, and execution of the above applications.
Participate on teams required to design, configure, and maintain systems for specific exercise, experiment, or test events for the 505 CCW.
Modifies and documents software changes as required.
Provides technical and administrative assistance to Program Manager.
Plan and implement exercise, test, training, and deployment activities.
Work directly with the customer to ensure effective connectivity for all applications.
Trains system administrators and mentors personnel operating TBMCS and M&S applications.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring systems properly operate during exercise, testing, training, and experimental events.
Responsible for administration of the Solaris Operating System is required (Version 2.5.1 through 2.9).
Responsible for administration of the Windows operating system (NT, WINDOWS 2000, XP) is required.
Responsible for administration of Oracle and Sybase Relational databases.

Education and/or Training Required/Desired:
Requires a bachelor's degree and five years experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required/Desired:
Requires an in depth understanding of the UNIX and Windows operating systems. Proven experience with configuration and maintenance of servers as well as a variety of peripherals required. Must have hands on experience with either AOC or M&S systems. Must also be well-organized and able to work independently in a fast paced environment. Strong technical and troubleshooting skills are key.
