Description
The Systems Administrator I will support the Information Systems function by providing hardware and software support for Host system. In addition, you will maintain Information Systems inventory and maintenance agreements.

Maintains and monitors daily operations to ensure all processing is correct and completed in a timely manner. Makes changes to jobs and job schedules when necessary to increase efficiency and improve operations.

Periodically reviews various logs and tape library system to verify accuracy and ensure corrections are made when needed.
Reviews processing procedures and schedules updates as necessary to increase efficiency and improve operations.
Identifies and solves operational problems to decrease down time of systems.
Provides technical support for questions/problems relating to systems operations.
Provides after-hours support periodically as scheduled to answer questions and resolve problems.
Maintains hardware and software maintenance contracts. Negotiates new contracts periodically to improve services and/or equipment.
Maintains established department and organization policies, procedures, objectives and quality standards.


Ideal candidates will posses the following skills:
1. Proficient in SUMMIT
2. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) involving interaction with internal and external customers.
3. Independent problem solving skills.
4. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize job tasks.
5. Demonstrates effective listening skills to accommodate internal and external customers.


Experience: 5 to 7 years experience in supervising systems operations. Minimum of 4 years of SUMMIT experience.

Education: Two-year college degree or Associates degree, or equivalent experience. Bachelors degree preferred.df-tc
