Description
Systems Administrator **Must have at least 1-2 years experience with VMWare!! Overview: Perform System Administration activities in support of UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems. Responsible for maintaining one of the following platforms: Sun/Solaris, Alpha/Tru 64, Linux Windows or the virtual server infrastructure. Provide backup to other system administrators for support of non-primary platforms. Requirements: *Configure and administer virtual infrastructure operating systems and provide backup system administration to various operating systems. *Provide performance analysis, system installation and tuning of the virtual infrastructure operating systems. *Conduct upgrades and patches, clustering installation and support and system configuration management. *Support installation of third party products. *Maintain username privilege definitions. Document and maintain system administration processes and procedures. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or combination of education and work experience required. Experience: *Sun/Solaris, Alpha/Tru 64, Linux, Windows: -Three years in system administration required. -Four years in 24X7X365 system administration environment support required. -One year in highly available systems and RAID configurations preferred. *SMS: -Five years in SMS system administration required. -Four years in 24X7X365 system administration environment support required. -One year in highly available systems and RAID configurations preferred. *Virtual Servers: -Three years in virtual server and host virtual server system administration. -Four years in 24X7X365 system administration environment support required. -One year in highly available systems and RAID configurations preferred. Knowledge: *Principles, practices, and administration of technical issues *Server clustering technologies *File and network system concepts *Volume management software *Software configuration processes and procedures *Active directory management and basic schema *RAID disk sub systems *Configuration of multiple hosts/services, operating systems and patch installation *System script creation, maintenance, back-up and restoration *Paging spaces and swapping *Hardware administration and support *Virtual environments Skills: *Commitment to customer service excellence and teamwork. *Excellent communication and listening skills. *Utilizing company policies appropriately.df-tc
