Summary:
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of all managed systems. This position monitors network and systems management tools, taking action on unknown errors and status messages. This position also acts as a front line to end-user requests, provides network, server, and desktop troubleshooting.

Duties & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
? Proactively monitoring and maintaining all servers, network devices, and supporting services to obtain a 99.5% availability
? Developing a 99.9% effective backup strategy for all systems and critical data. Ensure data recovery capability 99.9% of the time.
? Administer systems, remote access, network, and applications accounts and rights.
? Providing automatic installation build scripts for workstations and servers.
? Understanding and working with scripting languages (VBScript, JavaScript, Perl, ADSI, WSH, and others).
? Experienced in automated software installations for server and workstation applications.
? Provide first and second level support for all systems, and for end-user request.
? Provide software and hardware desktop support for corporate users.
? Participating in the development of Windows infrastructure, network, and system management tools including Active Directory, proxy services, Anti-virus solutions, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA), Email technologies and virtual server support
? Administering and using network, systems, and hardware management tools to ensure availability and health of all systems.
? Training end-users staff in the use and day-to-day management of network systems.
? Understanding and working with change management, fault management procedures.
? Participating in 24x7 support and on-call rotation.
? Ensuring problems are properly communicated and escalated through the organization.
? Providing detailed documentation of all implementations, changes, and solutions.
? Monitoring and maintaining backup systems.
? Monitoring and maintaining anti-virus and Internet filter updates.
? Update sites and data with data from external sources, as required.

Qualifications:
? Understanding of basic networking, TCP/IP addressing and subnetting, VLAN?s.
? System administration experience in Windows, Unix and Linux operating systems
? Help Desk experience a bonus.
? Experience with enterprise backup.
? Experience with server, application, and desktop-based anti-virus solutions.
? Strong troubleshooting skills
? Understanding of scripting languages (VBScript, JavaScript, Perl, ADSI, WSH, and others).

Experience, Education, Certifications:
Experience:
? Minimum 3 years experience providing support in Windows networking environments
Education:
? Bachelor?s degree in computer science, MIS or related experience
Certifications:
? MCSE or MCSA on Windows architecture desired. (Specialization of Security on Windows 2003+ a bonus)
? CCNA desired
