Reporting to the Data Center Manager, the Systems Administrator is responsible for configuring system and network parameters, desktop support and helps maintain a 24x7 operation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Configure system and network parameters
Monitor system stability and performance
Help develop tools to monitor and maintain systems
Ensure 24x7 operation
Rapidly scale systems to meet demand
Assist with desktop support
Write comprehensive documentation
Provide software maintenance (updates, installation, security patches)
Maintain system backup procedures
Manage user accounts (creation, deletion, modifications)

Required Skills and Experience:

Position requires a Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a Four-Year College or University; or equivalent combination of both education and experience. Computer Science Degree a plus.
5 + years of LINUX system administration experience
Experience with desktop support, configuring computers, phones, user accounts
Proven large-scale distributed application deployment and management using Tomcat/Apache
Previous experience in a high availability 24/7 service-oriented datacenter
Strong networking skills including DNS, network segmentation, firewalls, intrusion detection, and content-based load distribution
Knowledge of monitoring components such as SNMP, SNMP traps, and JMX
Programming/scripting ability (bourne, bash, perl, python, C)
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Solid Customer Service skillsdf-tc
