Description
THIS POSITION IS AN OVERNIGHT SHIFT.Provide support through Tier 2 (second level) on a variety of IT platforms, including IBM AS400, Unix, Windows, Cisco, Netapp, HDS Storage arrays and IBM tape backup solutions.Utilize data center tools, technologies, and processes within an ITIL framework to monitor, manage and ensure continuous operation. Perform preventative maintenance, as needed, to assist in the achievement of SLA requirements. Utilize the Incident Management process to acknowledge, route, escalate and report on Incidents that impact companywide users as well as mission critical systems. This includes resolution, documentation and communication.Work with management to develop, implement and update operational processes and procedures to ensure compliance and improve efficiency. Responsible for all production control scheduling, and batch processing on the AS400 system using Robot. This includes consulting with On Call programmers and additional technical resources, and to suggest and apply resolutions in a time critical environment. Assist in implementing permanent solutions.Monitors all system backups and ensures that TSM backups are successfully completed, and takes appropriate action to ensure completion and performs necessary data restores.Performs operational support functions defined within the Work Order requests.Responsible for representing operational readiness with project teams and customers to fully understand the support and operational requirements for projects prior to production implementations. Experience/Skills
THIS POSITION IS AN OVERNIGHT SHIFTUnderstanding of infrastructure used in a 24x7 production environment, such as servers, storage, networking and data center elements is important to this role. Knowledge and experience with Incident Management is required. Understanding of Problem, Change, and Configuration Management is a plus (ITIL framework). Excellent recall of information with the ability to grasp technical concepts quickly, adapt well to change and deal effectively with emergency situations. Demonstrated ability to provide Service Desk call coverage with end-users when needed.1-2 years Computer operations experiences required, including a working knowledge of change management, software installation, operational automation techniques and exposure to application and hardware problems. This individual will need to have had hands-on experience in a multi-vendor, multi-platform environment.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail a must as well as excellent interpersonal and time management skills required.Knowledge of computer operating systems, application, and maintenance in a variety of platforms.Ability to work the assigned shift, including nights, weekends, holidays and on-call rotation as required.ITIL Certified is preferredPlease Contact Amy Giesen at 952-831-6888 or by email at amy.giesen@rht.com for consideration
