Description
Our client, a well-established Manufacturing / Production company, is looking to immediately hire a Systems Administrator to install, configure and maintain workstations and servers including web servers in support of business processing requirements. You will work to perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.Additionally, the Systems Administrator will schedule the installations and upgrades that need to be maintained in accordance with a company’s established network policies. You will also conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and develop and maintain a comprehensive hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation regarding the network to be accessed for future troubleshooting and upgrades. The Systems Administrator is primarily responsible for managing servers and network infrastructure. Key objectives of this position are as follows:Managing Servers and Desktops:•Work with a team to develop new servers and system to meet business needs•Managing server capacities. Monitoring disk space on servers and performance monitoring.•Reviewing all server logs including: Event Log, Backup Logs, process logs and Dell OpenManage.•Proactively identifying and performing system maintenance.•Developing and maintaining standard desktop operating systems images.•Maintain version control and systems standards.Managing Data Security:•Manage/Monitor backups on all servers. Ensuring good backups, and maintain off-site backup tape rotation. •Manage antiviral software. Keeping all servers and clients up-to-date with the latest antiviral Software.•Monitor user email and internet web logs and looking for system abuse.Help Desk:•Is an expert on the configuration of all hardware systems. This person will be the 2nd tier help desk for all server, client, printer, connectivity and network related help desk calls.•Identifies areas of opportunity that will benefit the company in terms of time, cost and quality. Submits issues and enhancements to the Company Corp. team in order to gain competitive advantages.•Develops meaningful reports for management when needed.•Assists the IT team with software upgrades.Systems Roll-out:•Roll-out and support “Home Office” sales people.•Responsible for maintaining Server and Client operating systems, including patches.•Word as a team in replacing and expanding systems.•Assist in hardware related issues and to ensure minimal downtime for the organization.Other responsibilities:•Responsible for the identification, development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures that supports total customer satisfaction, both internally and externally, where applicable in relation to this position.•Fosters integration throughout the entire organization.•This position will require a minimum of 25% travel as needed to perform the job duties.

Experience/Skills
•Bachelor’s degree (BA) in a computer sciences and/or business or three+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. •Proficient in using Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Windows NT Server, and Windows 2000 Professional. •Experience in TCP/IP networking, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio is essential to this position. •Experience in Remote Access utilizing POTS, ISDN and VPN access is a plus.•Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have good communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.•This position will require a minimum of 25% travel as needed to perform the job duties.
