Description
We are looking for a UNIX Administrator that has experience designing, deploying and maintaining UNIX, Solaris and Linux servers is a production hosted environment. The UNIX Administrator will have a proven track record of at least five (5) years of supporting the network infrastructure and server farm with HP Openview.Are you a Unix Systems Administrator with 5+ years of experience using Solaris? Are you looking for a long term contract with a nationally recognized service provider? Would you like to easily commute to work using Max? We are seeking a contractor who will be responsible for the design and administration of OpenView Operations SiteScope. The successful candidate will be responsible for:-Maintaining systems and the hosted services through monitoring, data backup, troubleshooting, and proactive security measures.-Develop tools for managing the system and making all services available to end users.-Manage the complex technologies and services into a heterogeneous environment including those outside the operating system domain such as networking services, hot systems, and third party software.-Resolve system related escalation issuesCandidates must have 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator on a Solaris platform and 3+ years experience in the administration of OpenView. Expert knowledge of UNIX, Shell, Perl scripting, Sun Solaris, and Linux is required. Candidates must demonstrate troubleshooting, and problem solving skills at a high level. As this role interfaces with management, and will act as an expert for associate and career level IT specialists strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Previous experience as a project manager is a plus.
