Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Systems Analyst. This person will be responsible for:

  • Provide technical and functional support for the Financial Reporting/Budgeting/Forecasting system including maintenance, enhancement and resolution of technical problems.
  • Support and enhance the transition of data to and from Financial Reporting/Budgeting/Forecasting system and the Oracle Data Warehouse utilizing SQL Server Analysis Services and MS Access.
  • Research, recommend and lead special projects such as system implementation, integration and upgrades.
  • Maintain and verify that routine system jobs and backups are performed properly.
  • Provide Financial Reporting/Budgeting/Forecasting system help desk assistance to the end user community.
  • Adequately communicate with vendor technical support to resolve system issue and make system improvements.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to Financial Reporting/Budgeting/Forecasting system and Oracle Data Warehouse, including procedural and technical improvements to streamline reporting, budgeting and other processes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the budget and forecasts, including data gathering, analysis, consolidating results and updating a management review chart package.
  • Build and support financial models using MS Excel and/or enhance current database structure to support financial modeling.

Required:

  • BS/BA degree and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced system language skills including SQL (including DTS), ASP, HTML, and Visual Basic.
  • Advanced PC skills in MS Office (primarily Excel and Access).
  • SQL is a must have
  • Thorough understanding of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis fundamentals.
  • Experience with complex financial models including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Statements of Cash Flow.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
