The Systems Devlopment Consultant may act as the primary/lead point person (liaison) for handling off-shore related technical work and assignments. Provide development, maintenance; monitoring and support to the RKS recordkeeping systems and have the mainframe technical ability to troubleshoot. Assist business in RKS related issues – i.e. provide client team support. Develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products. Analyzes, programs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products.
Using current programming languages and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications

EXPERIENCE:
Candidate needs to have 4+ years of experience with mainframe MVS technologies with any number of IBM mainframe experience and related product skills including: COBOL II, DB2, VSAM,. JCL, Procedure Lang., use of IBM Ultilties, TSO, QuikJob, FTP, CICS, MVS, REXX, File-Aid, Endevor, SyncSort, etc

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
  • The Candidate is required to work with technical counterparts to resolve mainframe technical issues and manage off-shore resources. Duties for this position include:
  • Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal personnel in own area of expertise.
  • Day-to-day RKS systems support and troubleshooting.
  • Analysis of RKS recordkeeping systems related issues.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving (business/systems).
  • High level communication skills (verbal/written).
  • Recommendations regarding process improvement.
  • All other duties as assigned.

    SKILLS:
    The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Work well in a team environment, providing support to business users and technical on-shore and off shore staff.
  • Have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, corporate personnel and end users.
  • Have strong mainframe systems skills including COBOL II, JCL, Procedure Lang. etc. and demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Have a strong ability to be organized, manage time and handle multiple tasks/projects and priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Have knowledge, and practical experience with recordkeeping systems and DC business.
  • Have the ability to understand data flows and trace issues to resolution.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. in computer science) from a four-year college or university is preferred.
  • Experience with managing technical off-shore staff is essential.
  • Understanding of the Defined Contribution recordkeeping business is a plus
  • Understanding of DB2 is a plus.
  • Good communication, troubleshooting and problem solving skills required. Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word experience
