Major Position Responsibilities:
A senior-level professional, the Systems Development Senior Specialist is competent to work on complex projects and applies an in-depth knowledge of engineering/automation concepts, practices and procedures. The incumbent regularly works under deadlines and is capable of handling extreme workloads. The Systems Development Senior Specialist acts independently, operating with only general direction; errors at this level may cause significant disruption and/or major cost. Incumbents may provide guidance to and assist in training less experienced staff. Incumbents are responsible for the installation, development, implementation, and customization of hardware and software system elements.

1. ??Software design, engineering and/or development for the use of the MS Division of Medicaid.
2. ??Unit/System testing of all modifications.
3. ??Preparation of detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
4. Troubleshooting of production issues.
5. Participation in the development and preparation of documentation for, but not limited to, procedural, program and user
documentation. Designs, develops, installs, implements, fine tunes, documents and/or maintains databases, database
dictionaries; monitors standards and procedures and integrates systems through database design and administration.
6. ??Works with Business Analysts, Client, and Users to ensure successful system implementation; may assist in user training.
7. ??May provide guidance and assists in training of less experienced staff.

(MINIMUM)
1. Bachelor’s degree in CIS/MIS or related field.
2. 2 to 3 years experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, SQL, and DB2
3. Proficiency using personal computer and associated work station/computer-assisted tools.
4. Demonstrated commitment to providing customer-focused, quality service.
5. Ability to make oral presentations.
6. Ability to interface successfully with clients and ACS’ personnel.
7. Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team.
8. Ability to train less experienced personnel.
9. Commitment to producing quality (accurate, complete and clearly defined) user/client documentation and technical reports.

PREFERRED:
1. Experience with Title XIX or XXI healthcare programs, including Medicaid, Medicare, or Child Health Insurance Programs (CHIP)
2. Experience using Endevor, SDSF, FileAide, Platinum, and SPUFI
3. Microsoft Office.
