Description:

Systems Engineer lead/architect on new business pursuits involving ground systems. Responsible for analyzing system requirements, evaluating distributed computer architectures, assessment of hardware, network and communication products, directing or conducting research necessary for the development of new systems, and coordinating with other engineers and teammates to provide an overall assessment of current and future ground system capabilities. Activities include a variety of tasks that may include: technical leadership, formulation of concepts, systems requirements analysis, system architecture definition, systems design, performance analysis and simulation, trade-off analysis and evaluation of advanced computer systems, network components, and information security procedures, technical writing, and coordination with key suppliers, contractors/teammates, and customers; and proposal generation.

Qualifications:
* BS (or equivalent training) or higher degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering or related engineering discipline, MS or higher preferred.
* Must have experience within the IC on mission critical systems and a proven track record of white paper generation to winning proposal development.
* A minimum of 10 years of overall systems engineering experience including at least 10 years of experience in development of space or ground based communication or sensor systems, and their operation and control required.
* Qualified candidates must have experience with requirements analysis, decomposition & management using the DOORS tool; system architecture and design, CONOPS development, specification development to include requirements specifications, performance specifications & interface control documents (ICDs), leading fabrication/code activities; and integration and test.
* Additional depth in one or more systems engineering sub-disciplines such as communications security, wideband and narrowband networking/communications, or system operations is preferred.
* Technical leadership experience with superior oral and written communication skills.
* Must possess proven ability to work closely with customers and in teams that include government and contractor representatives.
* Ability to be primary interface to the customer on company capabilities.

Some travel required (approx. 10%).
**NOTE** This position requires a current TS/SSBI/SCI type clearance.
