ZelTech key mission areas include support to military and defense operations, homeland security, and critical infrastructure protection.


We are seeking a Systems Engineer to work with the Battle Control System - Fixed (BCS-F) Project Coordinator for the Northeast Air Defense Sector (NEADS), Rome, NY. Support system installation, acceptance testing, training, and daily operations of the BCS-F system. Provide maintenance and system administration support for all components of the BCS-F. Support on call requirements for non-standard work periods.

Essential Job Functions:

Technical support encompasses installation, integration, and site acceptance testing of the BCS-F system. Site lead will assist with installation, system checkout and certification. Provide technical support and services for day-to-day operations, system upgrades and modifications for both hardware and software components. Provide scheduled and unscheduled system status reports to program managers. Support BCS-F training for both operations and maintenance personnel. Monitor configuration management of BCS-F system. Verify anti virus programs and associated signature updates, install patches and updates as required for system security.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
? Primary liaison between prime contactor, sub-contractors and government personnel for on site support activities.

? Installation, trouble-shooting, and maintaining computer hardware, software and other equipment, and supporting end users in the use of such equipment. Assist in the writing of systems procedures and development of training materials.

? Work with other engineers, systems analysts, programmers, technicians, scientists and top-level managers in the design, testing and evaluation of systems.

? Read technical manuals and brochures to determine which equipment meets establishment requirements.

? Set up user accounts, regulating and monitoring file access to ensure confidentiality and proper use.

? Review project plans in order to plan and coordinate project activity. Control operational budget and expenditures.

? Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation, coordinate activities and resolve problems. Establish and maintain relationships with team members

Education and/or Training Required/Desired:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology plus five years relevant work experience (experience can substitute for degree).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required/Desired:

Knowledge of UNIX, LENIX, Windows operating systems, IPRNet and SIPRNet processes and network systems (PC's, Hubs, Routers, switches, servers, hardware and software devices associated with LAN's). Understanding of Red and Black requirements for classified and unclassified systems; TEMPEST; EMSEC; and COMSEC procedures. Desired experience with tactical data link systems, procedures and operations. Desired understanding of communication systems associated with BCS-F to include: radio systems; flight plan and weather feeds and infrastructure wiring (copper and fiber optic).
