Description
Provides a comprehensive review and analysis definition of all aspects of system development from analysis of mission needs to verification of system performance. Performs evaluation of alternatives and an assessment of risks and costs.



Required Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university. Will accept Engineering-In-Training Examination (EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) certifications in lieu of the Bachelor's degree. In addition, a minimum of five years experience in project management, coordination, implementation, general engineering and management is required.



In place of the bachelor's degree, will accept a minimum of five (5) years experience involving Air Traffic Control systems and National Air Space planning and project coordination.



Desired Qualifications:

Experience working Facilities and Equipment (F&E) projects and understanding of FAA program processes. Familiarity with FAA field organizations, ATC system installation/integration, and Transition Planning methodologies. Capable of accomplishing engineering cost estimating and able to support Transition Planning initiatives for facility/system requirements.



General Position Description
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Typical Minimum Education
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
