Description
This model developer/analyst in the Huntsville Operations Analysis Group will support a myriad of Independent Research and Development (IRAD) projects and selected program tasks. This person will be the lead developer for COBRA, a coverage/battlespace/requirements analysis tool, and other ancillary codes. This includes supervising junior model developers/analysts in code development, conducting runs, and maintaining post processors. This person will develop an understanding of BMD system simulations and analysis and will be responsible for:

- developing a working knowledge of BMD system functions, scientific principles, technologies, and operations;

- translating interceptor, radar, and battle management concepts into simulation input;

- operating and maintaining simulation codes;

- generating output to support analysis products;

- developing MatLab models of heuristic algorithms, optimization techniques, hit-to-kill phyiscs and data processors;

A bachelor's degree in physics, engineering, or computer science is preferred. Working knowledge of UNIX and/or LINUX, Windows operating systems, C/C++ programming languages, and MATLAB is also required.

Some travel may be required.

General Position Description
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Typical Minimum Education
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
