This is a 6 - 12 month contract position in Baton Rouge, LA.

The Systems Engineer position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of Intel based servers and associated software and hardware products. The associate is responsible for the change controls, administration and equipment maintenance of all supported servers including Microsoft Windows, Linux, Terminal Servers, Web servers, and Email servers. Working under limited supervision, daily duties include server builds, backup and recovery of servers, Disaster Recovery, server monitoring, management of AD using various tools, providing third level support to the client community and internal staff, and participation in 7x24 on-call support rotation. df-tc

Experience/Skills
1. Experience with Linux, and Microsoft Windows 2000 and 2003 installation and administration.
2. Experience with enterprise messaging systems. Microsoft Exchange 2000 or 2003 preferred.
3. Experience configuring and troubleshooting Intel severs from various vendors.
4. Working knowledge of Storage Area Networks and NAS devices.
5. Install and manage Linux and Windows servers in a VMware environment.
6. Comprehensive knowledge of operating systems to allow for problem determination and resolution. Ability to clearly define a problem and a course of action to resolve technical issues.
7. Basic understanding of programming/scripting languages such as Perl, and Visual Basic.
8. Maintain accurate documentation for hardware and software installations and maintenance.
9. Provide third level client support on systems related issues.
10. Must be dedicated to providing excellent customer service and posses excellent verbal communication skill with strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
11. Effective organizational, written and oral skills required to clearly communicate technical proposals to all levels of the organization including senior management.
12. Ability to work well in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS
Microsoft MCSE, Citrix, or Linux certifications a plus.
